Job Description
To supervise and undertake the installation, maintenance and repair of Cathodic Protection system in order to protect the pipeline from corrosion and facilitate safe transportation of the finished product.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Planning: Undertakes effectively the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programmes on cathodic protection equipment in order to ensure their working order.
- Installations and Modifications: Undertakes timely installations and commissioning of new Cathodic Protection Systems and modifications of existing ones in order to facilitate their continuity of operations.
- Repairs: Supervises and undertakes promptly, repairs of breakdowns on cathodic protection installations in order to prevent disruptions of operations.
- Requisition of Materials: Supervises and undertakes periodically the requisition of spares and inputs in order to meet sectional requirements.
- Sectional Budgeting: Undertakes efficiently forecasting of requirements, scheduling expenses and creating budgets in order to facilitate resource mobilization.
- Quality Control: Checks and ensures regularly that all works done at workshops and field conform to appropriate engineering standards in order to ensure their quality and durability.
- Maintenance of safety: Ensures that safety gear and equipment are available and safety regulations are followed at all working sites in order to facilitate the well-being of employees/staff.
- Performance Management: Undertakes the implementation of performance management systems in order monitor and evaluate performance and develop remedial measures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Form VI Certificate
- BSc in Metallurgy
- Member of the Engineers Registration Board (ERB)
Preferred Qualifications
- Computer literate
- Able to communicate in English and Swahili
- Able to write technical and analytical reports
- Strong supervisory and team working skills
- Excellent critical thinking and computation skills
- Creative problem solving and trouble shooting skills
- Computer Aided Design skills
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English and Swahili
Minimum Experience Required
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
